M11 Link Road Protest

£6.00

In the summer of 1994 in Leyton, East London. I heard about a road protest that was happening just down the road from where I was living. There was going to be a motorway built that necessitated the demolition of many houses, including Claremont Road, which became the focal point of the movement. All but one of the original residents had sold out to the authorities, and the remaining empty houses became a thriving eco-community for the protesters, who did all they could to stop the road being built.
